South Park Family Home

Craftsman Curb Appeal.

Location:

San Diego, California

Inspired by Luciano Giubilei's Tuscany Villa, this South Park landscape design uses a neutral palette of low-maintenance plantings to complement the house's blue backdrop. The classically inspired selection includes bay laurel, rosemary and manzanita with splashes of purple sage, pink grasses, and lavender to introduce vibrant pops of color. The planting palette uses repeating plant species, colors and textures to create calmness and unity within the landscape, allowing the striking cobble accents and craftsman details to shine. The addition of trees in the front slope provides increased privacy and a sense of tranquility, shielding the space from the street. A peaceful corner is envisioned in the front garden featuring a stone fountain and bird feeders to create a serene retreat.

The “mom corner”, a quiet place designed just for mom.

“Flora Nativa made my dreams come true. We have been wanting to landscape our home since we purchased in 2017, and really struggled to make that a reality.

When I finally reached out to Julie, I was so ready to turn our little eye sore into our dream home. She worked with me to create a vision (from many visions), helped shape the landscape plans to our budget, and even arrived on installation day to make sure the plants & materials went in the ground properly.

I have to admit: it was tedious work, we are kooky customers, but Flora Nativa did the work patiently and guided us with grace and composure.

Beginning to end, she made our dream garden into a reality, and in the process helped us turn our house into a home.”
